Vincent Square
About Our Ward:
Welcome to Vincent Square.
Vincent Square Ward covers an area of central London that is bordered by the River Thames to the south, the Palace of Westminster and St. James's to the east, Victoria Station to the north and Pimlico to the west. The ward includes Westminster Cathedral, the Victorian mansion blocks of Ashley Gardens and Edwin Lutyen's social housing around Page Street. Vincent Square itself is one of London's largest squares and at 13 acres, is the largest privately owned square in the city (it provides playing fields for nearby Westminster School) and is also home to the Royal Horticultural Society. The ward is socially very diverse and, amongst many other groups, has a vibrant Bangladeshi community.
Vincent Square currently has three Conservative Councillors: Danny Chalkley, David Harvey and Steve Summers. We are an active ward, campaigning in Westminster City Council, London Mayoral, European and General Elections and try to keep local people in touch with the activities of our councillors through regular deliveries of leaflets.
We hold regular social events in and around the ward, usually inviting well known polical figures as guests. In the last year we have hosted Boris Johnson, Michael Howard MP, Carolin Spelman MP, Jeremy Hunt MP, Ed Vaizey MP and the Countess of Avon.
We aim to be a friendly and welcoming ward and have members of all ages who take an active role in our activities. If you are interested in coming to one of our events, helping us with campaigning or delivering leaflets or would like further information, we would be very happy to hear from you.
