Our Role

The Cities of London and Westminster Conservative Association (CLWCA) exists to win elections and promote and organise activity supporting the Conservative Party in the City of London and in ten wards of the City of Westminster.

Our work is organised around four main priorities.

Campaigning
Both during and between election campaigns, we continuously collect and analyse views on key local issues and keep residents up-to-date with the successes of elected Conservatives in improving their communities. We also help in seats more marginal than our own that, if we are to form the next Government, we must win.

Fund-raising
Throughout the year, we organise a range of social and cultural events open to members and their guests. As well as being great fun in themselves, these events help us to raise the funds we need to mount campaigns and to assist Conservatives in other constituencies. Special programmes are arranged for members aged between 18 and 30 (Conservative Future), members aged between 25 and 40 (Conservative Young Professionals), and women members (Women's Constituency Committee), those interested in Middle Eastern affairs (Middle East Cultural Group)and those interested in China and the Far East (Chinese Conservative Group).

Recruitment
We encourage Conservative supporters who live or work locally to join the Association and become actively involved in our work.

Policy development
Recognising the need for continuing evolution in our ideas and priorities, we organise a full programme of speaker meetings and discussion groups through the Conservative Policy Forum to debate the key issues facing Britain and the world.
